[expert] SIOCADDRT: Network is down???

Hi everybody,

I'm not sure my ethernet card works.  When I cd to
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts and do an ./ifup eth0 i get this:
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Resource temporarily unavailable
SIOCADDRT: Network is down

Why does this occur?
