Hello all, I am trying to configure EPSON Stylus COLOR 740 as a local printer connected to the serial port... I have dualboot, and under windows it works ok, so I guess there are no hardware problems. With mandrake instalation program... I get no errors but the test pages dont show up... same with printtool... lpr gives no errors, and lpq no entires... and the printers just remains silent! I tried what is explained on this page : http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=62112 But not quite sure I did correctly... Here is what in /var/log/messages looks intresting... and then my /etc/printcap Anybody has any ideas to help me out? Thanx alot.. ~Mohamed Sep 7 09:03:53 localhost kernel: parport0: PC-style at 0x378 (0x778) [SPP,ECP,ECPEPP,ECPPS2] Sep 7 09:03:53 localhost kernel: parport0: detected irq 7; use procfs to enable interrupt-driven Sep 7 09:03:53 localhost kernel: parport0: Printer, EPSON Stylus COLOR 740 Sep 7 09:03:53 localhost kernel: lp0: using parport0 (polling).
