Hello there. I am currently having problems printing with my canon bj200. There has been a driver for this printer for a couple of years, and I have been able to get it to work for some time now. However, in mandrake 7.2, I cannot get it to work. During the initial install process, I am unable to select a printer, since the installer doesn't list any of them to choose from. There is a dialog and no printers listed. In order to install Mandrake, I had to cancel this dialog and press on. I figured that this was no big problem, since I could install and configure the printer with drakconfig, or the control-panel etc. I set up the printer as I have in other versions. the printer will print when printing directly to the port device, on /dev/lp0, but that is all. ( so the port is correct . . . ) If I use lp or the postscript graphics driver ( graphical testpage, netscape etc. ) then I get a message that the default printer hasn't been defined. I am not sure how to do this, since I've never had to before. Also, there is mention of a new printing system, is this part of the problem, or does anyone think that it is an install problem? Other than that, this version seems to work fine. Kde 2 works well, but is a bit slower than the previous version. The install, excluding the printer, was the easiest by far. I'd hate to have to go back to the previous version, just because of the printer. any help appreciated!!!
