I am trying out the Corporate Server for Sparc package. I am trying to load it on a SPARCstation 5 "Classic". The graphical install bombs when it tries to switch from text mode into graphics. A minor (for me) problem. What is a showstopper for me is that using the Text Mode install, it wants me to partition my four drives. Not a problem. I partition the same way that I would an Intel box, 1 EXT2 partition per drive, and a swap partition on the first drive. It then asks me for the mount points for each drive, but it will not accept any input. I can TAB to each field and the buttons, but nothing is accepted in the fields. If I type in a value and then go to OK, it complains that I need to set the / mountpoint. My guess is that there is something funky in the runinstall2 scripts, my my Perl skills are non-existent. Has any other Sparc user run into this? Is it a problem in the Intel Corporate package too? -- Jonathan M.
