OK after looking at this for 5 minutes it appears that Fred was attempting to name a process??? I'm a bit lost here but obviously he is compiling on a version of bash different to what comes with 7.1. The problem is with the comand %make world <.....> in the spec file. According to a nice 'man bash' this command attempts to bring to the foreground a running process with make as a name. Obviously make hasn't started as yet so you can't bring it to the foreground ;) If you goto your build directory and type the same thing (%make World) you will get the same error. Just remove the % from the %make line and everything should be much better. Don't forget to not be running X when your making (try 'init 3' as root to get to the console). Best of luck.
