I have a fresh install of 7.1 on the PC I use at work. I seem to be unable to
install any RPM's at all.
As an example, I wanted to install Star Office today, this is what happened:
[phile@pc35:~]
$ su
Password:
[root@pc35:/home/phile]
[# urpmi staroffice-en-5.1a-2mdk
Failed dependencies: glibc-2.1.3-17mdk requires /sbin/ldconfig
[root@pc35:/home/phile]
# ls -l `which ldconfig`
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 219544 Mar 31 20:33 /sbin/ldconfig*
[root@pc35:/home/phile]
# rpm -qvf /sbin/ldconfig
ldconfig-1.9.5-18mdk
[root@pc35:/home/phile]
# urpmi ldconfig
no package named ldconfig
[root@pc35:/home/phile]
# urpmi ldconfig-1.9.5-18mdk
no package named ldconfig-1.9.5-18mdk
[root@pc35:/home/phile]
# rpm -qv ldconfig
ldconfig-1.9.5-18mdk
Anybody got any suggestions as to what might be wrong here?
