I don't know if anyone's seen this problem before, so I'll describe the
situation:

I connect to two servers, one is my local ISP which uses PPP and the
other is my office which uses PAP. Up through and including
Mandrake 7.0, I had no trouble disconnecting from one and dialing up the
other repeatedly. In 7.1, I can disconnect from my ISP and
connect to the office, but when I try to disconnect from the office, the
windows go away with kppp and pppd still running, but useless
since they're connected to the wrong site. If I go and kill the kppp
and pppd processes, restart kppp and try to connect to my ISP, it
dials, connects and then terminates immediately with a message about not
being able to authenticate (I forget the exact wording).
I can't clear the situation without rebooting, which seems kind of
ridiculous. I uninstalled the 7.1 RPMS for ppp (pppd) and
kdenetwork(kppp) and reinstalled the ones from 7.0 and everything is
working fine. Sounds like some sort of subtle bug in the
7.1 versions.

Package
7.0 7.1
pppd ppp-2.3.10-5mdk.i586.rpm
ppp-2.3.11-7mdk
kppp kdenetwork-1.1.2-11mdk.i586.rpm
kdenetwork-1.1.2-17mdk
