Of the soapbox, I personally use xntpd for synching the main local timeserver with two different ntp servers, and then use timed to keep the local network in synch, xntpd was too finicky for my patience on the local level. xntpd was really simple to set up for just the server box, and timed can be setup to be a master local server. The adjustments for timed are accurate enough for most timestamp sensitive stuff. m -- Matthew Micene Systems Development Manager Express Search Inc. www.ExpressSearch.com ____________________________ A host is a host from coast to coast, and no one will talk to a host too close Unless the host that isn't close is busy, hung or dead
