Dear friends:

I would like to inform all of you who are interested that PM-FAX Lite is
available for free for Linux (apparently the Lite version is always
available for free on OS/2, Windows and now on Linux). It is much easier
to use than Hylafax, but, mainly, if you have a U. S. Robotics 56k EXT
faxmodem, as I do, it will work fine in Class 1, which is not the case
with Hylafax and will not work at all in Class 2 or 2.00 in mgetty or
Hylafax.

The announcement and full info is at LinuxToday:

I would very much appreciate your help with two problems having to do
with PM-FAX as it concerns Linux-Mandrake (since only partial
instructions are available for Linux at this time and, even then, only
Caldera is mentioned specifically.

My problem is not in setting it up or in making it work. That
took only minutes. I use the U. S. Robotics 56k EXT faxmodem and I use
it in Class 1. Tested it in both Send and Receive mode in Class 1
(sending and receiving to Kinko's). NO problem! "Sent" and "Read"
clearly recorded in PM-FAX's fax.log file.

EXCEPT for one thing: I cannot for the life of me figure out how to SEND
a document other than the cover page. The documents I sent above are
just cover pages. The document I received, on the other hand, was a two
page document with cover page and a 1-page document. There are two
folder icons on the toolbar. One opens the log status window, the other
should open the documents and allow me to fax a document. But this "open
folder" icon does not open. Is this a bug?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Benjamin
