I went ahead and just deleted EVERY frickin' file I could find that looked like it had anything to do with kde. I deleted all qt directories, all kde subdirectories, etc, etc. I then reinstalled qt2 and all the kde-1.99 rpms. This time, kdebase installed fine BUT when I subsequently tried to run konsole from an xterm...I got the same old errors concerning libkdecore.so.3. A completely clean reinstall and kdebase STILL wont work with its own kdelibs. Me thinks that it would be a good idea for Mandrake to test-run their binaries a bit more before even releasing them for a beta distribution. This whole thing makes me think "alpha" not beta. Does mandrake have ANY athlon systems to try their stuff on? praedor
