I have taken my system back to 7.1, but am upgrading some of my system from 7.2beta. This includes XFree86-4.0.1. There appears to be a problem for me however. I have a Voodoo II card, and it suits me fine. XFree86-4x is dependent upon Glide_V3-DRI. For my voodoo II I have Glide_V2-2.5.3 installed. When I try to install Glide_V3-DRI, it conflicts with one or more files from Glide_V2. I do not WANT the Glide_V3 rpm, and am only installing it for the sake of XFree86-4.x. How is one supposed to build/use XFree86-4.x when they have a voodoo II (generic...not a banshee) that gets screwed over by the Glide driver required for XFree86-4.x installation? I don't even have any intention of getting a VIII card...ever. When I had originally installed XFree86-4.x previously, as I upgraded my system (unsuccessfully) to 7.2beta, I lost the use of my voodoo II and hadn't figured out how to get around the problems caused by XFree86-4.x and my voodoo. Now, I am not going up to 7.2beta, just upgrading a few of the more trustworthy packages, but I NEED to retain the use of my present video hardware, including the voodoo II. Anyone have any help or suggestions to toss me? Should I install Glide_V3-DRI only long enough to build and install XFree86-4.x and then overwrite Glide_V3 with my present Glide_V2 rpm? praedor
