If you REALLY want to try writing (ie you are keen to destroy the data, and just want to see how mcuh linux can do with ntfs so far) you will need to download a recent kernel (2.4.0testx) and compile with experimental options, somewhere under file-systems is rw ntfs. Otherwise, if you want to transfer data between NT and linux, you need to a have a FAT16 partition (as you would with win98/nt anyway).
