Hello everyone. I am maintaining several Linux servers (both Mandrake 7.x
and RH) for 5 years and feel comfortable calling myself a qualified amateur
system administrator. I have recently gotten a line on some decommissioned
SPARCs that may be donated to local schools. I would like to set these up
to run as web/mail servers, with some limited file serving as a possibility
but not a primary goal.

I am trying to decide on a distro for such machines, keeping in mind that
setup will be no problem (as I will do it), but that the end users will
most likely be non-linux-proficient. I know that the corporate server uses
a lot of "wizards," but not having installed that distro I do not know
exactly what they accomplish. What I need to know is if there is a
distinct advantage going with CS 1.0 if non-linux people will be
responsible for daily things such as account creation/deletion and password
fixing. I am pretty convinced that DrakConf with its user management is
pretty easy in X/KDE, but am wondering if CS has any newbie goodies that
would make it even better.

I would also like to add that these would be my first installations of
Linux on the SPARC platform, so if there is a significant difference
between Mandrake and CS for that kind of server as opposed to x86 I would
appreciate knowing about it.

Thanks in advance,

--chris
