There are two possibilities: 1.) You update to Mandrake 7.2, it supports all protocols of ethernet-connected printers: AppSocket, LPD, IPP, SMB. There are two printer configuration programs: printerdrake and kups. In both you find the correct buttons for using these protocols easily. Look in the manual of your printer which protocols it uses. 2.) You stay with Mandrake 7.1, but then probably only LPD as protocol are supported. Look in the manual of the printer how you can switch the printer to use the LPD protocol (to behave as a machine running LPD).
