After installing Mandrake 7.2 on my Pentium Pro 200 it would not boot up at
the default lilo setting but would bootup if I selected failsafe. I
discovered it was because since I have a PC with dual processor capability
Mandrake 7.2 install installed the default boot to be "linux smp".

Unfortunately I only have one processor in the PC and that is why the bootup
failed. When I changed the default to "linux up" the bootup worked fine.
This is a bug. Mandrake should not have assumed I had 2 processors.

Question: What does the "up" in "linux-up" mean?

Also: Although "knewmail" is listed in the Kmenu, it does not seem to exist
and locate cannot find it. Any suggestions as to why?

My impressions is that kde2 is pretty but definitely slower than kde1 in
Mandrake 7.1 and its Kmenus are confused. Kmail does look "improved" but I
have only just started exploring it so I do not know about capabilities. One
problem: all deleted messages in my inbox have re-appeared! And, my
signature dissappeared so that I had to re-enter it. imwheel functionality
no longer works, etc. etc.

So far I prefer 7.1 which I may re-install after playing with 7.2 a little.
