Then you will need to join the domain to access any NT boxes:

smbpasswd -j <DOMAIN> [-r <PDC>]
(the section between square brackets is optional, but sometimes
necessary.

To do this, you need to make sure that your workgroup is set to the
domain you want to join, you should set which is the PDC (or use * where
samba will look for it in the domain), use ecnrypted passwords, make
sure that you have a "trust account" in the domain with the default
password. Your NT admin should know how to do this.

in /etc/smb.conf:
workgroup = <domain>
encrypt passwords = yes
password server = *

When editing the smb.conf file, you will see that the shares are also
defined there. You may want to try using webmin instead if you are not
too keen to edit files and read the smb.conf file a lot (just watch out
as webmin eats include lines in smb.conf!).
