You need the software cursor option - it defaulted to hardware.

I've a machine running the SiS 6326 on 7.0 here and it was an absolute
pain to set up - I'll send you an XF86Config if you like; I don't have that
problem though. I ended up hacking the modelines manually. It seems the system
doesn't see the whole middle range of dac speeds, so you have to do strange
things to get around it. XF86Setup fails to start on it, and every X setup
program sets it up wrong. There's a comment somewhere suggesting 85Hz for all
modes. I spent an hour punching in numbers into modelines until I was happy
