the apm is what shuts down the machine. apm is not safe with smp and is diabled automatically. i do not know any of the details, however, you get to turn the power off manually on your bp6 just like i do with mine. as long as you use smp, you get to shut off the machine manually. if you boot the uniprocessor, it will shut the power off automatically. i have never tested this since i only used the uniprocessor to solve some problems with 7.2 and never used it for a shutdown.
