Can you type "ifconfig" and see whether there is a section beginning with "lo"? Try to set "NETWORKING=yes" in /etc/sysconfig/network and "ONBOOT=yes" in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-lo. Enter service network restart to activate this. Send me the mentioned files when this does not help. This "lo" is the so-called loopback device and this emulates a network consisting of only the local machine and this makes it possible for programs which are made for networks to run without network. Strange thing is that qtcups and printtool > only work when I'm online. I tried different configurations (network, > remote...) but nothing really worked. Any suggestions? >
