I'm having problems with warm boots under Mandrake 7.1 (also Redhat
6.2, 7.0, tho the Mandrake install was a beautiful thing to behold).
Here are the details.

Pentium 90 motherboard, Award BIOS 4.50GP. The motherboard is
populated with a lot of VIA chips, not sure which are the ide
controllers. One 425mb ide disk. Bios settings: IDE HDD Block Mode
disabled, IDE 32-bit transfer mode disabled, onboard ide first channel
enabled, second channel, enabled, first channel ide master pio auto,
2nd channel auto, PCI irq activated by edge, pci ide irq map to
pci-auto, primary ide int# a to irq14, secondary ide int# b to irq15.

When warm booting, the system complains, apparantly disabling
my disk. Subsequent warm boot either repeats the problem or
(under RedHat) fails entirely saying "hard disk failure (80)"
something like that, after the mem check and before booting. I
have identical behavior under the Redhats 6.2+ where it complains
and talks about putting both ports into native pci mode and then
disabling (bios) just as Mandrake does below:

VIA_IDE: ide controller on bus 00 dev 08
VIA_IDE: placing both ports into native PCI mode
VIA_IDE: Missing I/O address #0
VIA_IDE: device disabled (BIOS)
