Hi... One of the things I like most about Mandrake is the online Software Update feature. This makes reinstalling and then applying subsequent security updates much simpler and less error-prone. Two problems, however: 1. The list of available mirrors seems to fluctuate wildly. A few days ago, there were about 25. Today, there are 5 -- 3 don't answer, 1 answers (slowly) and does not contain the latest updates, and 1 is up-to-date. This mirror is in France and I am on Vancouver Island. 2. There appear to be unresolved conflicts between some updates. For example, if you do a clean install of 7.2, then select all the available updates, you get conflicts between leafnode and inn, and between various Zope components. As a dumb user, I'm not really sure what is meant when I get an error message saying something like "leafnode_version_n conflicts with inn_version_n". What are the downsides / benefits to choosing "force update" when I get this message? Aside from being a bit unfriendly, it concerns me that if you were to use an out-of-date mirror, you might not realize that you weren't getting the latest security updates.
