Thanks for the response, unfortunately the suggestion doesn't seem "doable"
from here. If I select Drakconf from the dektop, the options available are:
X Configuration (monitor selection only)
Change X- Resolution
User Addition
Security Level
Startup Services
Keyboard Choice
Package Manager
LinuxConf
Hardware Configuration
Network Configuration
Printer Configuration
The only place I can find any reference to Login is in KDE Control
Center>Applications>Login Manager, and this doesn't appear to have anything
to do with AutoLogin.
Could you direct me to a file I could run directly from an Xterm, or a
config file that could be edited??
Thanks
Barry

Two separate problems.
First autologin. Select DrakConfig>graphics configuration>autologin.
Second autostart. Find your autostart folder (default location is in your
home directory but you can move it by selecting control center >l ooknfeel >

could also open an editor and write the program path (eg. /usr/bin/kedit)
and
change permissions on the file to make it executable and put it in your
autostart folder.
