Tony, your suggestion revealed a curious thing.


#lpc status

lp0:
        queuing is enabled
        printing is enabled
        no entries
        no daemon present
lp1:
        queuing is enabled
        printing is enabled
        no entries
        no daemon present

#printerdrake
revealed the following:

Queue Name: lp0
Spool Directory /var/spool/lpd/lp0
Printer: local printer
Printer device: /dev/lp0

Can you make sense of this?
