The last time I tried to install something with MandrakeUpdate, the new cups,
it downloaded, indicated that it was being installed and then my hard drive
'trashed' for about 5 minutes. No mouse or keyboard control. I had to press the
reset button to get it to stop. Now MandrakeUpdate show me that there are no
new files. Could be but I know that there were others. A 'rpm -qa | grep
<filename> only shows what I have installed AFTER cups. It does not show cups.
Any attempt to install anything shows a long list of missing
dependencies.Checking for the 'missing' files finds them. As root typing 'rpm
--rebuilddb' does nothing to fix this.

What do I do?
