Mandrake 7.2 installed on my winbook just fine. However, I have several
problems, and I was wondering if anyone else has solved these:

  1. The USB ports were not recognized, andI can't get USB to work
whatsoever. Trying to load the modules by hand gives hardware not found
errors. Windows handles USB quite well, so I know the USB ports work.

  2. If the system pushes everything to disk (going into sleep mode when
lid is closed), and then comes back, the KDE desktop starts getting
squirrely. Mouse clicks are mostly ignored. Sometimes clicks get way
ahead of the system and it reacts several 10's of seconds later. Bailing
out of X and then coming back in makes it a lot better, but does not solve
it. (This behaviour was also noted when going into suspend mode to ram.)
The sound card stops working.

  3. If windows was previously running, the sound card is not initialized
properly. If a power off/on is done, the sound card works.

  4. If windows was previously running, the network card does not work.
If a power off/on is done, the network card works.

I installed the same Mandrake on an older Dell inspiron, and USB worked
quite well.

Has anyone else seen this sort of thing? Any Ideas?
