A Promise Ultra 100 IDE controller is not SCSI, it is IDE.

There are methods of doing this in Mdk 7.1, which you should find here
http://www.csie.ntu.edu.tw/~b6506063/hpt366/ or
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/mini/Ultra-DMA.html

The windows method of finding the addresses required by the kernel
parameter ide0= should owrk for you regardless. Udma100 support though
is really only in 7.2, so yuo might want to rather back up and
reinstall.

(P.S. AFAIK the Quantum Fireball only comes as IDE also, Quantum's SDSI
drive are cureently called Atlas)
