[expert] Can't get imap connections on LM7.2

Can anyone tell me why I cannot connect to my LM7.2 machine using imap?
/usr/sbin/imapd exists, it is defined in /etc/xinetd.d/imap, and ipop3 works
fine. I've double checked the user id and password, but it looks fine. Am I
missing a step? Is it documented anywhere?
