You must have lilo installed to use this method, not grub.

How to get to this file was contained in what follows. 
"/etc/lilo.conf" is the full instruction - it gets you to the file.

I have not suggested which text editor to use since you did not say
which GUI you are using.  Text editor choice is up to you.
