Hey gang,
1st time posting. Just set up a LM 7.1 box and am downloading the cd image
for 7.2. I am trying to set up a web hosting bus. and want to know if it is
possible( I am currently doing it through WinDoze 2K) to do virtual hosting
and email using only one ip address. From what I have seen in several
how-to's, I have to have a real address for each virtual domain. Is this
true?
Here is my current configuration.
pentium based machine
linksys router set up as a gateway with ip forwarding enabled
one single IP address(externally)
LM 7.1 but will upgrade to 7.2 if ya'll think it is necesary.
I have tried to set up the dns according to the how to "pocket isp based on
Redhat Linux". I set the DNS server to not see the outside network yet so i
can make sure it works first internally and when I try to hit any site
including LocalHost, it kicks back an error in the browser that says unable
to open page in / because I dont have root privs. if you can make any sense
out of this, maybe you can direct me to a better how to or tell me what i am
doing wrong.
