Do not use MandrakeUpdate to upgrade from PHP 4.0.3pl1 to 4.0.4pl1. The
solution another posted to Mandrake Forum seems to be the only good fix
I've seen.
Download all the PHP4 rpms (including mod_php) from an update mirror.
rpm -e all of your PHP rpms. (Don't forget mod_php here either.)
Then install all of your new 4.0.4 rpms.
I think the problem lies in the upgrade vs install scripts in the RPMs.
