I have the same problem!! I could think it's an hardware problem, but under
windoze it works perfectly!!
I have found a partial solution disabling the hardware acceleration
(putting the NoAccel string in the XF86Config).
It works but it's soo soo slooow...
The card shows the same problem with both xfree 3.3.6 and 4.01
