And what might the password for user 'postgres' be?

Go to main menu, then 'system' and then the 'User Manager'  from root and
then double click on user postgres. It gives you the option of changing the
password. At least thats how i did it (there is probably a direct command
that does this) and PostgreSQL is up and running.
