Thanks Tom. I will do the rename for now since I figure a new
mandrake release will happen soon enough. Hoping the next release
will get my tv card working, since I have had no luck to date.
with it nor cd burning in 7.2, and also printing from win box
via cups..........

A quick, dirty and temporary fix is to rename knotify.so to somethin
like /usr/lib/knotify.so-disabled ..... BUT,

I've done all of Chris' updates. Up until 20010109 I had no problems.
Then with the 0115, and also with the 0118 updates, I began to have
difficulties, including the knotify one. When this continued with the
latest 0122 updates, I wiped and did a fresh 7.2 install. Then the
latest 0122 updates installed and work flawlessly. I followed Chris'
README instructions to the letter.
