Hello!

 I have a PIII-800 with ASUS CUCL2 m/b , 2 Maxtor Lct20 20Gb drives running
Mandrake 7.2 . The /usr partition is RAID-0 on /dev/hda and /dev/hdc.
Usually it runs just fine, but while I was trying to rebuild glibc with rpm
(rpm -ba glibc.spec) it works for some time, then freezes with message
/dev/hdc Drivestatus {Busy}. It always freezes some time during the build.
It does not depend wheter i'm running 2.4.1 or 2.2.17 kernel. At the same
time it has never failed while i'm compiling the kernel. It even let
me create 2G file with dd. And then it died again. After the freeze, I have to
turn off the power, since after reset it does not detect disks.

        Any ideas?

                best regards,
                Ivar
BTW any ideas how to get Large File Support for 2.4 kernel without rebuiling
glibc?
