[expert] unable to connect to cups server

I'm getting the following error while attemping to install a printer:

unable to connect to cups serverat /usr/lib/libDrakX/printer.pm line
384. 

I'm using the latest cups.  I was able to install the printer using
Linuxconf, but when I try to print I get the following error:

lpr: error - no default destination available.
lp: error - no default destination available. 

Any ideas?  Anyone else come across this?!
