Hi,

I have a very similar problem if I boot from floppy and there is no Install
CD 1 in the CD drive. Try starting again with CD 1 in its drive.

Subject: [expert] On-Board ata100 (promise technology)

        Hi,
I recently tried to install mandrake on my system but i had
a problem.
During the first step of the installation, it asks me if i have any scsi
device. If i click no, it asks me the same question again. If i click yes,
i'm prompted to install a scsi driver. The problem is that i don't have a
scsi interface. It is promise technology for ATA100 hard drive (Asus A7V). I
don't think there's a driver for this "supposed-scsi" interface. I also
tried to create a linux partition with partition magic and installed it
again: failed. It says no device were found to create a new file system. I
need help.

A futur mandrake user. ( I hope so)
