I suppose you want to know how your ISP detect
your browser ??
This is done by the env variables of your browser:
REMOTE_HOST
REMOTE_ADDRESS
HTTP_USER_AGENT (THIS ONE= Mozilla/......)
HTTP_REFERER

A script CGI on the server analyse always foolwing var:
REMOTE_HOST
REMOTE_ADDR
HTTP_USER_AGENT

(I suppose you now what it's mean)

Some browsers let you the choice of the signature of the
HTTP_USER_AGENT
(IE, netscape,etc...)
Ex.: see on opera.

If this can help.
