at a prompt, type 'df' and you should see something like this:
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda1 2.0G 1.9G 67M 97% /
/dev/hda8 7.6M 2.0k 7.2M 0% /foo
/dev/hda4 592M 349M 213M 62% /home
/dev/hda7 1.4G 1.1G 274M 80% /mnt/hda7
/dev/hda6 902M 833M 69M 92% /mnt/win_d
except that one of those entries is going to say 0 Avail.
That's your problem - no space on disk for files, even for
root. You need to get some free space for printing (and
lots of other things!) to work. Out of curiosity, does
/var/log have huge directories in it? There is a problem
with some versions of the logrotate that makes some of
the dirs there huge (megabytes!), and you want to update
logrotate (see previous messages here) if so.
In any case, clear out some space (CAREFULLY!) in your full
partition(s) and you should see an improvement....
