Same here. You'll also note that the bus type listed is PCI ... so much
for detection. I did a dmesg after installing and all 8 megs were
detected. Also if you look at /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 (or appplicable file)
you'll see a section like:
-------
# **********************************************************************
# Graphics device section
# **********************************************************************
Section "Device"
Identifier "Generic VGA"
Driver "vga"
EndSection
Section "Device"
Identifier "Matrox Millennium G200 4MB"
VendorName "Unknown"
BoardName "Unknown"
Driver "mga"
VideoRam 8192
# Clock lines
-----------
So X knows the real video ram, and the available resolutions/depths
definitely correspond with 8 Megs. It must be a bug in whatever reads the
identifier. I wouldn't worry about it though. Your system is most
probably using all your video ram.
