Vincent,

I get the same:
cups-common <>=S 1.1.6-3.1mdk is needed by cups-1.1.6-3.1mdk
libcupsimage.so.2 is needed by cups-1.1.6-3.1mdk
libcups.so.2 is needed by cups-1.1.6-3.1mdk
libcupsimage.so.2 is needed by cups-drivers-0.3.6-30mdk
libcups.so.2 is needed by cups-drivers-0.3.6-30mdk
libcups.so.2 is needed by xpp-0.6-16mdk

There is no such information in the MU description file. Besides:
# rpm -qa | grep cups
qtcups-1.0-14mdk
cups-1.1.4-7.1mdk
cups-drivers-0.3.6-30mdk

BTW, I've noticed other update problems -- see bug 2052
