I am migrating a Linux partition on one of my platforms from SuSE 6.4 to
Mandrake 7.2 and have encountered a problem with the ethernet card in the
machine. I know that the card works because the SuSE distribution found it
automatically. (I should mention, in passing, that the ethernet card is new
because the upgraded machine, it went from a pentium to an Athlon 750 MHz
machine, couldn't find the old card).

The card is a NE2000 and compatible. I'm using KDE 2.0.1 - Network and
Internet connection in DrakConf finds the card without any problems, but
also finds neither the 8390 nor the ne modules. Also, if I run the
Internet Connection Sharing tool in DrakConf, immediately after the other
tool finds the ethernet card, it complains that no ethernet card has been
detected and wants me to run the Hardware Configuration tool.

How can I go about solving the problem? Any suggestions will be gratefully
accepted.

Thanks in advance.
