I posted something similar to newbie yesterday, but maybe it's time for some
expert help.

I am using a D-Link DFE 350 TX+ network card under LM 7.2 for eth0. This
card uses Realtek 8139B chip and therefore needs the Realtek driver,
rtl8139.o.

During boot the command "insmod /lib/modules/2.2.17-21mdk/net/rtl8139.o"
fails. When I manually try it as root is runs with no error and I can then
do "ifup eth0" and I have my network.

During the boot sequence the error messages are:
        insmod: /lib/modules/2.2.17-21mdk/net/rtl8139.o: insmod eth0 failed
        Delaying eth0 initialization

syslog contains the line
        insmod: /lib/modules/2.2.17-21mdk/net/rtl8139.o: invalid parameter
parm_irq
        ifup: Delaying eth0 initialization

Some additional info. There are no IRQ conflicts according to both the BIOS
and Linux, using "lspci -v". I have this problem with both "PNP OS" set to
either YES or NO.

I'll keep flailing but any ideas will be greatly accepted!
