I have an external v90 modem and when I boot my linux box (Mandrake
7.2) and is checking the serial ports, the modem hangs, and I have to
power off and on to get it back, then it works fine. I think that is
the way it checks the serial lines that messes the modem up. That
didn't happen with RH 6.2
