Dear friends: Thanks to "Gh" I have solved the improper bootup due to my new USB Zip drive. BEGIN To get your USB Zip working use at your own risk: As root, edit /etc/sysconfig/usb file Set storage and usb variables to yes. Reboot. You should see at the boot screen: USB interface USB storage USB file-system As root, in console md mnt/zip Add to fstab /mnt/zip /mnt/zip supermount fs=vfat,dev=/dev/sda4 0 0 Reboot. Your should be able to use your USB zip now If the USB interface is not activating at boot time: As root add to /etc/modules usb-interface END In addition, I have added the following items at the end of /etc/rc.local: insmod usbcore insmod usb-uhci insmod usb-storage [sher@sher sher]$ And, of course, I add the following entry to /etc/fstab and /etc/mtab: /mnt/zip /mnt/zip supermount fs=ext2,dev=/dev/sda 0 0 (Ploease note that for device I indicated "sda" rather than "sda4" because in my case "sda4" causes an Input/Output error. One last thing: Gh is looking for someone to send him, for a reasonable annual fee, LM updates. I personally do not have a CD-writable machine so I can't do it. However, I am taking the liberty of asking other list members to consider helpling him. Keep me posted I like to keep my mandrake box updated but I lack the bandwidth any suggestions? I am willing to pay a reasonable annual fee for a monthly CD delivery with all the update files for LM7.2. Gh's email address is: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thank you all so much.
