When you install files (e.g. the jdk files) using something other than rpm (e.g. executing .sh install) then the rpm database does not get modified to reflect the existence of the newly installed files. So it (rpm) continues to think there is a dependency problem. To get around this, you can either 1. try to find a jdk that has been packaged into rpm format. (this is preferred, since it will keep all your packages under rpm management), or 2. use the --nodeps option with rpm. This will cause rpm to ignore the fact that its database shows unmet dependencies. use with care, but in this case it would be appropriate.
