It is not a good thing, but common.
Fortunately, all those kcontrol menu items are also available
directly from the K menu, so there is no feature loss.
The kcontrol menu itemms can be recovered by copying something from
/usr/share/ to ~. This worked for me, but not for long before
kcontrol was blank again.
