[expert] dump with IDE CDRW

Before investing in a Plextor 16x10x42 CDRW for IDE, I want to know if I
will be able to use dump for backing up with this. I know I will have to
have the ide-scsi loaded, but will it act like any SCSI CDRW and will I be
able to run dump backups on it? Any free software recommended for such a
job other than dump? I really appreciate any help on this, Thanks!
