I've tracked the problem down to 'chksession -l' which is listing Gnome
then KDE. The man page states that this configuration is normally read
from /etc/X11/window-manager, but I can't find any such file on my
system in any directory. I've found the individual wm configs used in
the creation of that file, but I have to assume Mdk has a program for
automatically updating the results of chksession.
