  the first option in the kernel config, "Code Maturity Level Options,  
Prompt for Development and/or incomplete code/drivers" needs to be (Y).
Then ReiserFS should be able to be included.   If it's the 'last' 2.4.2, 
-17mdk, I couldn't get past make modules, till I deselected the "Adaptec 
AIC7xxx support" module (N).  make modules kept erring out tryin to compile 
that module.  Otherwise, no problems.
