Can you go near the end of your httpd.conf and verify that the line:
Include conf/addon-modules/php.conf
is not commented out? The php engine itself might not be running,
which could be the problem. There were some problem with post/pre
install scripts in the php package that were hard to fix with an
update because they were problematic in the release packages. At the
same time, edit /etc/php.ini and make sure that the modules you have
installed (mysql.so, pgsql.so, etc.) are not commented out.
Once you do that, if you need to fix any of this, restarting apache
after you've uncommented that stuff should resolve the problem.
